Blood sugar measurements are necessary before every meal or if the child is reported or observed to be unwell or if you are not feeling well.
- Wash and dry hands thoroughly (warm water stimulates blood circulation)
- Blood glucose measurements are taken on the outer sides of the middle, ring, or little finger
- the first drop of blood is wiped off with a cloth after lancing with the lancing device
- the second drop of blood should be picked up by the test strip
